Best time to arrive

Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha weeks draw large crowds. If you travel then, arrive early and read the notice board before queuing. Friday schedules have historically matched other weekdays unless a holiday notice says otherwise.

Early morning: First visitors pass the counter and board the train. Queues are usually shortest in this window on weekends.
Late morning to early afternoon: Peak arrival period on Saturdays and Sundays. Entrance lines and train waits increase.
Mid-afternoon: Steady flow as families finish lunch and enter the mine. Underground chambers often feel less crowded than the entrance area.
Late afternoon: Staff may stop new entry when remaining time is too short for the full tour. Do not assume you can enter close to closing.
